“Empowered Christian Women transforming society”

The PCEA Woman’s Guild is a fellowship whose main mission is to bring together women and girls who are full members of the Presbyterian Church of East Africa in giving their lives and their time to the service of the Lord Jesus Christ in the Church. It was formed according to Rom 12:11-13. “not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer, distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality”.

The PCEA K/South Guild was started in 1978 under the leadership of PCEA Bahati Woman’s Guild since they were less than 10 members in 1979. Hence they didn’t qualify to have their own branch. More members were commissioned at Bahati and the K/South Guild were given a branch. The first office bearers were:-
  • Susan Murimi – Chairlady
  • Esther Muya – V/Secretary
  • Martha Wachira – Secretary (Late)
  • Rahab Ndung’u – Vice –Secretary
  • Elizabeth Mwangi – Treasurer

Woman’s Guild activities are based on Ministry of Worship, Service and Fellowship. We have been called to:-
  • Be ambassadors of peaceb.
  • Be a good neighbour (Luke 10:25-37)-
    bind each others wounds
  • Walk in love, unity faith and corporation
  • Be repentant of our sins
  • Walk in obedience
  • Live holy lives
  • Forgive one another

God has been gracious to the K/South Woman’s Guild and have blessed us with a few income-generating projects namely:
4 rental houses all in Eastlands area and Sale of song-books.

    Brother/Sister's Keeper

In keeping with being our ‘brother/sister’s keeper, the Woman’s Guild in our Parish visits members who are sick or bereaved as and whenever such cases are reported. We take these opportunities to share and bear with one another, share the word of God and also help with our substance and Acts of Mercy. Tuesday 4 p.m.is the most preferred time to do visits but if the need be or whenever called upon, visits can be arranged to take place any other day. We also share and support our members in times of joy, for example, members weddings and anniversaries as well as celebrate and support members when their children are wedding.

To ‘sharpen the saw’, seminars, rallies, retreats and sports days are organised for members at both Presbyterial and Parish levels. Our members take these opportunities to gain spiritually as well as build friendships which is key in building a healthy body of Christ.
